Background and Motivation
Future trends and business opportunities are something that leading edge companies are constantly scanning and seeking on. More traditional technologies and solutions are often left without same attention. Mobile telephony is an example of such area. On the other hand for example IP based mobility enables new range of services. Many things have been done but for sure there are smart and nice things to be discovered.
Project Goal
The goal of the project is to ideate and innovate new use cases and services for mobile space starting from telephony and ending up... nobody knows where. Prototype setup around idea(s) is built and showcased. Key criteria for successful project are:
1) Project team had fun and learned a lot
2) Ease of use - Even my grandmother would know how to use it
3) People start asking where to get it

Done and done
The summer is ending and so is our project. Final presentation has now been held and most of the project related things are ready. Only documentation for the client and showcase for Demola need some work. All required things are ready and we even had time to add some bonus features. As captain Kirk said, it was fun.
Fixing and polishing
This week we have been fixing bugs and making the user interface better. The final presentation is closing in but there is still plenty of time to make sure that all things work as designed. There have been some minor problems with our server software, but fortunately they were easily fixed. Big problems at this stage can be quite dangerous.

The end is nigh
... or at least it seems to be. The project is in pretty good shape, it is possible to manager groups and users and make calls. Integration with the phone (SIP, address book and calendar) works too, altough some testing is still needed.

The Quest for Documentation
For the last few days we have been trying to use some of the native N900 API's to interact with the phone. Finally we have managed to create something usable but it was not exactly easy. The problem was that the documentation is mostly non-existing and when some is found usually very basic.

Web design
We have been working on our web interface and many things are already working. Registering new users and creating call groups works and we can soon make the first call using our client application.
We have also polished the look of our application using Vilja's graphics and made small adjustments so that the interface is easier to use with a mobile devie.

Mobile things
This week we have been mostly focused on our client application which will be running on the user's mobile phone. The documentation for several N900 features is - once again - very sparse. Fortunately several people have managed to figure some useful things about the phones API.
Promising progress
Server works pretty well now and we can create and receive SIP-calls using our mobile phones. SQL-server works too and we have also finished our database design (altough it might still require some minor changes).
Onwards!
This week we have been done quite a few miscellaneous things and not focused to any single issue.
Our server needs still some more tweaking altough simple SIP-calls work fine. Fortunately there is plenty of documentation for it so this should not (hopefully) be a big problem.

First week
After the first "real" week we have talked with our client, made some plans and designs for our project and played around with some of the software and hardware we need to use. No big problems so far, our server is working and some simple tests have been done to verify that our client application approach is feasible.
