Background and Motivation
The popularity of dancing has increased all over the world in last few years. Thanks to all those tv-shows, that have made for example ballroom dancing very popular in all age groups. Dancing is a good way to control weight and it is also a great fun to dance with other people and find new friends.
There are already some dance games for video game consoles, but there is no real dance game for mobile devices.
DanceNavigator is a dance game/dance school application for Apple iPhone. It will be developed with Jukka Haapalainen and Sirpa Suutari-Jääskö, multiple winners of international professional Latin dance competitions, who will be also teachers in dance videos and animations.

Project Goal
Project goal is to develop a dance game/dance school application that uses iPhones camera, motion capture and gps tracking features. By downloaded videos and animations user can learn the correct dance movements and steps.  With devices feedback  user can improve his/her skills and learn more of his/her favourite dances.

DanceNavigator: Week 20

Now we have only one week left for our project. And we don't have the licenses (suprise suprise). So we decided to go with the plan B. The target of plan B is to create some material that promotes our project and the targets we are trying to achieve with this project. We are going to make somekind of a promoting video, that presents the meaning of the program.

DanceNavigator: Two weeks left!

Now I'm really getting frustrated. We still have no information about when the licenses will arrive. And now we have only two weeks left before the deadline. We still haven't been able to test the program because we don't have the testing licenses. It's really frustrating as the progress of our project is not in our hands.

DanceNavigator: Week 10

This week we got some really bad news for our project: our lead programmer has to leave the project because he got some actual job. Due to this he doesn’t have time for the project anymore.

DanceNavigator: Week 9

As I said in my last blog entry, from now on the language will be English.

This week we had a meeting with our client. There were also four new team members (I only knew that there were going to be two), so I was a little bit confused. (Actually later that week two of our new members decided not to participate in our project.) In the meeting we went through what we've been doing these weeks and what we're going to in the next weeks.

DanceNavigator: Viikko 8

DanceNavigator: Viikko 7

Projektin aloituspalaveri 18.2.2010:

Projektin aihio: http://demola.fi/node/989
